‘Respectable Thief’ at KW Institute for Contemporary Art

11pm / KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, with Berliner Festspiele / Foreign Affairs / In English and Portuguese / Duration 45min.

“I am not interdisciplinary. I am a hustler… a good one.”

With his charismatic and at the same time provocative performances, videos, music and poetry, multimedia artist Nástio Mosquito brings a raw new voice into contemporary art. His work shows an intense commitment to the open-ended potential of language. Easily misread as a kind of world weariness, it is the extraordinary expression of an urgent desire to engage with reality at all levels.

With his immersive and visually powerful piece Respectable Thief, Mosquito combines video, music and live-performance to celebrate a productive, consequent, articulate and eloquent anger, and the power it has to instigate motion in communal social environments.
